Oracle Academy Instructors? Institute Helps 140 Teachers Prepare Students for Successful IT Careers in Europe

Prague, CZECH REPUBLIC, 19 July 2010

  • Today, the Oracle Academy welcomed teachers from across Europe to the Oracle Academy Instructors? Institute in Prague.
  • The training event will continue through July 23rd and include 140 teachers from Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.
  • The Oracle Academy Instructors? Institute is an intensive professional development program that prepares faculty to teach the Oracle Academy?s technology and business curriculum. The curriculum focuses on database design and SQL programming skills.
  • Prior to attending the in-class training event, teachers are required to successfully complete 40 hours of online training over a period of two months.
  • During the institute, teachers will work face-to-face with Oracle Academy instructors demonstrating their readiness to teach the Academy curriculum by completing a class project and passing an exam.
  • Currently, over 447,000 students from more than 2,500 educational institutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) benefit from their participation in the Oracle Academy.
  • Worldwide, the Oracle Academy currently supports over 1 million students and teachers in 93 countries.
