New cooperation between ITI and ExpertControl
Automatic Controller Parameterization by ecICP and ecCST now available in SimulationX.
High efficiency in the development of interdisciplinary simulations will now be supplemented with the most progressive technology of feedback-control design. Complex and time consuming tasks of feedback-control design will be completed with ecCST and ecICP in an integrated and fully automated process within SimulationX.

(IINews) - The library ‘Signal Processing’ has been a fundamental part of SimulationX. It facilitates the modeling of open and closed-loop controls for physical systems, using standard control modeling approaches. Thus, even the best controller algorithm is not the optimal solution if parameterization of the controller and integration into the system are complicated. “Thanks to the new cooperation with ExpertControl, the tools ecCST and ecICP are integrated into SimulationX. Therewith, controller design is now significantly simplified and accelerated”, explains Thomas Neidhold, ITI Manager Software Development. „With five steps only it is possible to determine controls and control parameter for a complex, dynamic simulation model. The transfer function and control parameter are calculated directly by the ecCST module in a fully-automated way. The data can then be directly further used within the SimulationX model. Developers of plants and machines therewith get the unique opportunity to optimally apply the whole system.”
„As high-pressure deadlines determine the quality of control behavior, engineers all over the world will benefit from this cooperation. With ExpertControls’ tools now being integrated into the SimulationX modeling environment, the user just sets the controlers’ specific speed parameter and quickly receives the desired quality”, emphasizes Dr. Helmuth Stahl, Managing Director of ExpertControl GmbH. „In the future, optimal controls can be calculated within SimulationX in a fully automated way even in early development stages. This not only significantly shortens development time. Moreover, unpredictable risks in project delivery times and bringing plants and machines into service are eliminated.”
